Clonmult/Dungourney Parish News

Masses during the week: Monday at 9.30am. Tuesday and Wednesday at 9am.

There will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in Dungourney church on Thursday at 9pm.

This Sunday is Corpus Christi and the annual Procession takes place in Mogeely, starting at the Church at 2pm. Everyone is welcome. A special place in the procession for the First Communicants.

We welcome the First Holy Communion Children and their families to the 11am mass in Clonmult this Sunday. Since this is the last mass in the ‘Do this in memory of me’ programme, a big thank you to all the parents who organised the masses over recent months.

Last weekend’s collection: €263.92. Thank you.

Anniversaries: Dick Whelan. May he rest in peace.

Novena: the annual Novena in honour of the sacred Heart continues this week in Mogeely Church at 8pm each evening

Year of St.Columban: this year marks the 1400th anniversary of the death of one of the great Irish saints. Saint Columban brought the gospel to many parts of Europe. On the weekend of the 20th/21st June many celebrations will take place to mark the anniversary of his death. A suggestion of something that parishes could do, is to undertake a ‘pilgrim walk’ which is a walk in honour of St.Columban , which involves 9 steps or paused for prayer along the way. Fr. Barry is hoping that on Saturday 20th June we would meet at the Church in Clonmult at 3pm and then walk via the holy well returning to the front of the church again. However this walk needs to be organised in terms of Gardai being informed, stewarding etc., therefore there will be a meeting to organise this event on this Monday 8th June in Clonmult Hall at 9pm. Everyone Welcome.
