Clonmult/Dungourney Newsletter.

Masses during the week: Monday to Thursday at 9.30 a.m. Friday at 7.30 p.m. Saturday at 10.00 a.m.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in Dungourney Church on Thursday at 8.00pm.

The “First Saturday” devotions continue next Saturday in Clonmult. Rosary at 9.45 a.m. followed by Mass, followed by Confessions.

On Next Wednesday, 2nd March, children from both parish schools will be confirmed in Mogeely Church. The ceremony begins at 11.00 a.m. and for those hoping to get a seat, please come early, because seats are only guaranteed for the confirmands and their Godparents. Holy Communion will be brought to the sick on Friday Morning.

A brief meeting for the Ministers of the Eucharist (of both Churches) will take place on Monday, 7th March at 8.30 p.m. in Dungourney School. All Ministers are asked to attend.

The monthly Vincent de Paul collection will be taken up today as you leave the Church.

To celebrate the “Year of Mercy” all dioceses are asked to take part in a special promotion of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The celebration is called “24 hours for the Lord”. This involves some selected Churches remaining open to offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation beginning at 5.00 p.m. on Friday 4th March until midnight. Confessions resume the following morning and continue until 5.00 p.m. Saturday evening. Adoration will continue throughout the night, and local adorers are asked to attend even for a short while. The selected local Church is the Most Holy Rosary Church, Midleton.

“Day of Praise, Worship and Healing” on Sunday 28th February at the Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork. Start 9.30 a.m. Lunch at 1.00 p.m. Mass at 5.00 p.m. Rosary, Praise, Worship etc. Guest speaker – Maria Vadia (see poster in Church porch).

The “Months Mind” mass for Joan Cheasty (RIP) is being celebrated this Sunday at the 11.00 a.m. Mass in Clonmult.

We welcome the First Holy Communion children and their parents to the 11.00 a.m. Mass on this Sunday. They will play an active part in the liturgy of the Mass.

“Pope Francis and the Year of Mercy”A talk by Cardinal Murphy O’Connor on Sunday 21st February between 3.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. in Christ the King Church, Turners Cross, Cork. Cost: Donation Only. All welcome.

There are still copies of the beautiful booklet “Jubilee year of Mercy” which has been produced by the Diocese of Cloyne and is available. Please take a copy. They can be found on the table in the Church porch.

Masses during the week: Monday and Tuesday at 9.30 a.m. Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, Masses at 9.30 a.m. (Clonmult) and 7.30 p.m. (Dungourney) Masses on Thursday and Friday at 9.30 a.m.

Ashes will be blessed and distributed at both Masses on Wednesday.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in Dungourney Church on Thursday at 8.00.

Thursday is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, which is also the World day of the sick. During Mass on Thursday, the Sacrament of the Sick will be administered.

Grand Parent’s Day 2016: A special liturgy will be celebrated in Dungourney National School to acknowledge the great work of grandparents. All grandparents of children who are attending the school are welcome to this liturgy on next Friday 12th February at 11.00 a.m. in the school hall. Refreshments afterwards.

Year of Mercy Diocesan Reflection Day: Most Rev. William Crean, Bishop of Cloyne, invites you to be part of an afternoon of reflection on the Theme of “Merciful like the Father: Living the Year of Mercy”. It will be led by Dr. Edward Sri, an internationally known Catholic speaker and author.
