ATHLETICS AND CYCLING

The Annual Sports at Dungourney were brought off with great success last Sunday in a well laid- out and very carefully prepared field close to the village. Beautiful weather favoured the fixture, which was very well patronised indeed not alone by the people of Dungourney, Clonmult, Midleton and surrounding districts, but by a large and very encouraging muster of cyclists and athletes as well, who helped to make the reunion this year the great success it proved to be. The Sports Committee left nothing undone to ensure success, and the different events were got through very satisfactorily and expeditiously. Mr, E, Aherne, the capable and efficient Hon. Sec. who acted in the capacity of handicapper and starter during the day, rendered great service, and the success of the meeting might be said to be in a great measure due to his well-directed efforts.
