Scór na bPaistí – County Semi-Final Update

The Cork County Scór na bPaistí semi-final was held in Ovens on Friday night last (1st March).  Dungourney had two teams participating – the first group were in the play called “A Surprise Visitor”.  The story was based on an American lady coming to Ireland to find her family roots.  This team included Eimear McGrath, Amy O’Reilly, Adam Horgan, Matt Sweetnam, Maire Loughnane, Lucy Flynn, Lauren Davidson, Cara Padden and Una Fitzgerald.  The group deservedly scored very well and were delighted to go through to the County final which will be held in Ovens on Sat afternoon, 9th March.

The second team to participate were the polka set dancers who did two parts of the Sliabh Luachra set.  The team consisted of Lucy and Rachel Flynn, Lauryn and Evie O’Donovan, Aoibhe and Chloe Corby, Eimear McGrath and Darcy Voronins.  The girls danced very well and also got through to the County final.Well done to all involved, a fantastic achievement to make it this far in the competition.  Best of luck to everyone on Sat in the final, it would be great to bring some silverware back to the locality.
