Dungourney GAA club AGM was held last Tuesday night in our new Club Room. Our chairperson Orla Kelleher welcomed all members on this special occasion to the newest addition to our ever improving facilities.

In 2014 when the Club implemented their Five-Year plan, little did anyone think what that five years had in store for us. East Cork, County and Munster Junior A Hurling Champions 2015 and competing at Intermediate level in 2016. Then in 2016/17 we constructed a seated Covered Stand, a first for an East Cork club. The Ball Alley floor was covered with Astra Turf and is now in great demand. In 2018 we were awarded a Sports Capital Grant and work began on our Gym and Meeting Room, these were completed earlier this year. Work has also begun on replacing the pitch perimeter fencing and this is we hope will be completed in the New Year.

The AGM saw us complete a treble in the “Board Room”, 2015 Lily Hegarty became our Treasurer, 2017 Orla Kelleher was elected Chairperson, 2019 the Treble was completed when Christine Healy was appointed Secretary for the 2020 season. Is this a first for a GAA club?. What does the next Five Year plan hold – Watch This Space!!!!!!
