Ordination to the Priesthood. Rev. Tiernan Burke was ordained a Deacon for the Diocese last August, and he is now preparing to be ordained to the priesthood. His ordination will take place on Pentecost Sunday, 24th May (this Sunday) in St. Colman’s Cathedral, Cobh at 3.00 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Rev. Tiernan will celebrate a Mass of thanksgiving in the Holy Rosary church, Midleton, on Tuesday 26th May at 7.00 p.m. All welcome to attend. Tiernan’s ordination is a source of great joy for the Diocese. Please remember him in your prayers.

Summer Mass Schedule. The Bishop has asked all of the proposed Pastoral Areas in the Diocese to agree a special schedule of Masses for the Summer to facilitate priest’s holidays and retreats. This schedule was agreed so that fewer priests could celebrate the Masses. Knock Pilgrimage to pray for peace in the Holy Land.

People from all over Ireland are invited to Knock Shrine on Saturday 16th May for a special pilgrimage to pray for peace. The pilgrimage organised by the papal charity Aid to the Church in need will be led by Bishop Shomali from Bethlehem.
