Clonmult Ambush Centenary. Work on the restoration of the Memorial in Clonmult Graveyard to those who died in the Clonmult Ambush in 1921 began this week. Time has taken its toll on the structure in the past few years, this memorial was unveiled in 1964. It was designed by Walter Verling, Youghal, and the limestone and marble work was completed by Edward Sheedy, Sheedy Headstones and Jim Condon, Midleton. This project was led Cannon W. Egan, P.P., Imogeela. The inlaid ornamental pillars and overhead arch came from the front door of Ballyedmond House, they date back to 1810.
