East Cork Rapid Response
On Tuesday 31st March the Dungourney GAA sponsored information meeting between East Cork Rapid Response and the local community was held in Clonmult Old School. The meeting was chaired by Christy Fitzpatrick. Present on behalf of Rapid Response were Eoin Healy, John Coleman, Fergal Mullanney and Michael Ahern. Eoin Healy outlined to those present that Rapid Response provide a voluntary pre-hospital emergency care to the East Cork Area. They are the utmost professional people who give of their time freely to this work. They depend on the generosity of the public and corporate funding for their survival. After a very worthwhile presentation all those in attendance were in no doubt that our medical emergencies were in safe hands. We hope to organize a Defibrillator course in the near future, while this meeting was in progress a Defibrillator saved the life of a 21 year old from the Nemo Rangers Club, at a game in the City.
Aidan Flynn on behalf on the “Puc Fada” committee presented their takings on St. Stephen’s Day to Eoin Healy and John Barry on behalf of his brother Fr. Mike Barry. Sean Hennessy on behalf of Clonmult Community Co-Op also made a presentation to Rapid Response. The younger people in the group got to see the Ambulance, its contents complete with flashing lights.
After very worthwhile presentation refreshments were served and all those in attendance were in no doubt that our medical emergencies were in safe hands.
