Southern Star. 28. 5. 1966.

As expected, Hurricane Jeannie experienced little difficulty in winning the final of the Mallow Sweepstake at the Cork Greyhound Stadium on Saturday night. Though drawn four, she soon struck the front, and though Lady Trout was moving well in the closing stages, Jeannie had six lengths to spare at the line 40.35 seconds. An outstanding stayer last season, she did not seem to produce it early this season, but now evidently back to her best, she is again the “Marathon Queen”.

By Verboden ex Whisper, the property of Mr. Michael Murphy, Ballydonagh Dungourney, and trained by Nr. Jeremy Townend, Hurricane Jeannie will have her next outing in the long distance International at Kilkenny.   On Saturday night she started at the prohibitive odds of five to two on.
