“United Hunt Meet” – The old-age custom of the United Hunt Club’s meet at Clonmult was carried out in full splendour on St. Stephen’s Day. Towards twelve o’clock the horses arrived from north, south and west. The sun peeped out from behind the clouds and the at the call of the huntsman they left for the glen at the north of the village, and thence to Garrylaurence, Rathorgan and Sheepwalk. Thus a very good hunt started at Rathorgan, took the hounds to Lucey’s glen where he went to ground.
