Youth 2000 Summer Festival at Cistercian College, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th July 2016. This is a four day celebration of faith of young people aged 16 to 35. There is an action packed programme of inspiring talks, workshops, testimonies, prayer, music, drama and much more. The festival is donation only. Free buses available from all over Ireland. Annual Corpus Christi Procession: The Annual Corpus Christi Procession will take place in Mogeely on Sunday, 29th May at 2.00 p.m.

Knockadoon Catholic Boys Camp: Knockadoon Catholic Boys Camp will take place 5th to 11th June, 2016. Ages 12 to 16. A joint initiative of Cloyne Diocese and Waterford and Lismore Diocese. A one week (6 nights) stay on site, full board camp in the picturesque sea-side village of Knockadoon in East Cork for boy’s age 12 to 16. The camp will serve as a week of fun, friendship and rowing in faith, activities include various sports, canoeing, swimming, hill walking, music, catechesis and prayer. Trocaire Boxes: If anyone still has their Trocaire box and with to hand it in would you do so next weekend as we need to send off the contributions of the Parish to the Diocesan office who will forward them to Trocaire.

Novena: The Annual Novena in Honour of the Sacred Heart of Jesus commences on Thursday, 26th May and concludes on Friday, 3rd June (The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart). Rosary, Novena Prayer with Reflection and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament each evening in Mogeely Church, at 8.00 p.m. Mass will be offered on the final night of the Novena.

G A A: On Friday evening next the 21st May a new chapter in Dungourney’s glorious history will be entered when we play Barryroe in the opening round of the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship. We were one of the top clubs in the County at the turn of the last Century, being crowned County Senior Champions in 1902, 1907 and 1909. In 1902 we went on to win the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. By the middle of the 1900’s our fortunes had changed and we were now playing in the Junior grades, winning East Cork Junior B in ,67 and Junior A titles in 1972, 2006,2011 and 2015.Our success in 2015 was followed with County and Munster Titles.
